dc.description.abstractThe current study was conducted to measure the total concentration of heavy metals (Zn,Cd,Pb,Cu) in contaminated soil in Baiji oil refinery at Salah -alden governate, Iraq . Forty one samples were collected from different area distributed in two stations . The total concentration of heavy metals in soil samples were extracted by digestion of soil with concentrated nitric acid . The AAS was used to determine the metals at specific wave length and Hallow Cathode Lamp (HCL).Metal speciation was also determined by AAS after extraction of the metal with different chemical reagents .en_US
