dc.description.abstract | This experiment was conducted at one farm belonged to private sector during the periods 2 / 9 / 2010 to 27/10/ 2010 , using two hundreds and forty one- day old unsexed chicks meat type broiler ( Ross hybrid breed ) . Ad. libitum feeding system was applied during the two rearing periods, starter period for 4weeks and grower period for 4weeks also were divided randomly to four treatments with three replicates for each treatment , every replicate contain 20 birds. The treatments of this experiment as follow as : ( T1) control treatment without addition ginger powder in water and feed (T2) add 2 gm of ginger powder per liter of drinking water ( T3) ) add 2 gm of ginger powder per kg of feed ( T4) add 1 gm of ginger powder per liter of drinking water + 1 gm of ginger powder per kg of feed . Measure live body weight , weight gain , feed consumption , feed conversion ratio , dressing percentage , relative weight of carcass cuts ( thigh , breast) , relative weight of liver, heart, spleen and gizzard . Estimate daily consumption average of the water, through the week 4,8 from the old of the birds for all treatments . Results indicated significant superiority (p< 0.05) for treatments T2,T3,T4 in live body weight , weight gain, feed conversion ratio compared with control group T1 at week 4,8 of age . T2 showed significant decreasing (p< 0.05) in feed consumption at week 4 of age . Feed consumption decrease significantly (p< 0.05) for treatments T2,T3,T4 at 8 weeks of age compared with control group. The results indicated significant increasing (p< 0.05 ) in daily water consumption for treatment T2,T3,T4 at week 4,8 weeks of age. No significant differences between treatments in dressing percentage, relative weight of thigh and breast, relative weights of liver , heart , spleen and gizzard through the two periods of study. It was concluded from this study we can add ginger powder to the water and feed by using any of the tested percentages . And the Using ginger powder decrease feed consumption and increase feed utilization for the birds . | en_US |
