dc.description.abstractThis research deals with one of the main important and elegant theories in sociolinguistics and pragmatics which is politeness. It focuses on the relationship between politeness and gender. Simply, Politeness means to be modest with others, to show your interest and consideration with others. The research investigates the deference between men and women in providing politeness in their utterance. It aims at identifying who tends to be more polite in his speech (men or women). Thirdly, analysing data of Facebook concerning this study depending on three models: Holmes (2013), Leech (2014) and Lakoff (1975).en_US
