Abstract: Thin films of NiO with different thickness have been prepared by the chemical spraypyrolysis technique. The effect of thickness on the electronic transitions for the prepared NiO thin films and energy gap have been investigated. The absorbance were calculated in the wavelength range (300-900)nm for different thickness(140 180, 240, 280 ,330) nm, the results show that the absorbance is decrease as the wavelength increased for NiO thin films , while the absorbance increases as the thickness increases . The optical energy gap of thin films decreased as the thickness increases.
