Abstract: A field experiment was carried out in the fields of Department of Field Crops Sciences - Faculty of Agriculture - Diyala University in 2014 within the project of the development of maize for spring season in Iraq to study the response of two varieties of maize spring season to transplanting method . The experiment was applied according to the Split Plots Design with three replications . Each replicate was divided into two main plots (Broujen and Cadiz variety) . Each main plot was divided into four secondary plots which were treatments of methods of agriculture (method of transplanting method which is seedlings 15/1, seedlings 15/2, seedlings 15/3 and traditional agriculture method in the permanent field in 15/3). Results have shown that seedlings dates 15/1 and 15/2 led to the events of a significant increase in the mean of plant height, number of leaves ,leaf area . Varieties showed significant effects on the growth characters. Broujen variety has achieved increase in mean of plant height, stem diameter . The interaction between the methods of agriculture (transplanting and traditional agriculture method ) and varieties have shown significant effect in stem diameter , leaves number , leaf area.
